What is Staking?
In the Cardano ecosystem, staking your ADA (₳) is like putting your money into a checking account with an APY.
As opposed to traditional banks, in the DeFi (Decentralized Finance) world of Cardano, your money never actually leaves your wallet and is available to you at any time. With staking you can use your ADA to support the decentralization efforts.

When you stake with a pool (this is called delegation), the pool has an increased chance to participate in the transaction-generation (minting blocks). Minting blocks is rewarded with ADA. Those rewards go back to you and the pool operators, as an incentive to help keep running the network.
